During open house for the PKK I had the most wonderful experience. I was working in my office. I turned from my computer to get something on my desk and I saw a little boy peering in my office window. His chubby hands were cupped around his eyes so that he could see. When our eyes met, he flattened one hand on the window. With the other hand, he enthusiastically waved. I waved back. It was a surprising exchange that reminded me that little people try new things as they explore the world.
I can relate to this little boy’s eager explorations. It has been that kind of year for me. There has been a joy and renewed enthusiasm for my call. I’ve tried new things; I am sure I will keep trying new things as I continue to get to know you and the needs of the congregation and community.
How about you? How is your enthusiasm for new things? Do you find what you are looking for at GSLC or are there things that you want to try? Are you surprised by God like I was surprised by the little boy? As people of faith, our call to ministry opportunities is constantly changing and growing. The grip of grace leads us to exciting places.
